Level 5 Diploma in Children & Young People's (CYP) Services Leadership

Overview

This Ofqual accredited diploma is designed for those with existing employment in the health and social care sector as a deputy manager, or an equivalent role at this level.

The student will complete a selection of both mandatory and optional units, with each unit holding a different credit value. Students must gain a minimum total of 90 credits in order to pass the course.

The programme focuses units on both care and managing to ensure that students are able to fulfil a managerial level role with an extensive understanding of the chosen pathway subject. The course also ensures that students are aware of, and maintaining any legal requirements with which they must comply.

Requirements

As assessment takes place in the workplace, delegates must be employed in a relevant vocational setting in order to enrol on the course.

Duration

Learners are encouraged to learn at their own pace over the 24 months they have to complete this course. Because this course is self-paced, many learners will finish their diploma sooner.

If a student needs to put their diploma on hold, we do require a letter of commitment so that they may return to the programme at a later date.

Assessment

Diplomas are completed via e-portfolio. All students will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will be on hand to provide virtual support. The assessor team is there to help students work to the best of their ability and complete their diploma in good time.

The e-portfolio is a collection of evidence submitted via an online portal. This evidence comprises of a range of documents, from peer statements, presentations of evidence and a series of Q&A sessions.

Evidence is collected via experience gained in the delegate’s workplace whilst they perform their usual working role and will cover a series of competence and knowledge based units.
