in Health & Social Care
This diploma is designed for carers just starting out in the industry, perfect for those who have very little experience of the care sector. As such, the programme covers a wide range of topics in order to build a strong foundation for working in care.
Students will complete a selection of both mandatory and optional units, with each unit holding a different credit value. Students must gain a minimum total of 46 credits in order to pass the course and the optional units chosen will help determine your care pathway.
Requirements
This course is designed for those with little care experience. However, working or volunteering in a care role is still a necessary requirement for delegates looking to enrol.
Duration
Learners are encouraged to learn at their own pace over the 24 months they have to complete this course. Because this course is self-paced, many learners will finish their diploma sooner.
If a student needs to put their diploma on hold, we do require a letter of commitment so that they may return to the programme at a later date.

Assessment
Diplomas are completed via e-portfolio. All students will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will be on hand to provide virtual support. The assessor team is there to help students work to the best of their ability and complete their diploma in good time.
The e-portfolio is a collection of evidence submitted via an online portal. This evidence comprises of a range of documents, from peer statements, presentations of evidence and a series of Q&A sessions.
Evidence is collected via experience gained in the delegate’s workplace whilst they perform their usual working role and will cover a series of competence and knowledge based units.

Did you Know?
A common question we are asked is "what is the difference between NVQ, QCF and RQF diplomas?" The answer is far simpler than you may think...
All three are abbreviations of the same qualification. While the term 'NVQ' may still be the most popular, this was superseded by 'QCF' in 2010 and then changed to 'RQF' in 2015.
